What is RADIESSE®?

RADIESSE is a dermal filler that is used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It works by stimulating the body’s collagen production for a more youthful appearance. This filler is formulated with calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) suspended in a gel carrier. Once RADIESSE is injected into the skin, it provides immediate volume, while working over time to stimulate collagen production for long-lasting results. Over time, your body absorbs the gel carrier and metabolizes the CaHA, leaving behind your body’s own natural collagen stores. 

RADIESSE treatments rejuvenate the face by:

• Reducing nasolabial lines.
• Restoring volume to sunken cheeks.
• Correcting pre-jowls (the areas on either side of our chin) and chin wrinkles.
• Adding definition in areas such as the jawline.

People who receive RADIESSE injections often get them in the face, particularly around the mouth and nose. It can also be used to fill in areas of the face that have lost youthful fat, as well as deep scars.

RADIESSE® Treatment

During treatment, your skin will be cleansed and dried, and a topical anesthetic will be applied to the targeted area to ensure your comfort. Then, our board-certified dermatologists will skillfully inject the filler into the marked areas. This is an outpatient procedure, so patients can return home directly after treatment.

Who is a Good Candidate for RADIESSE®?

Individuals with a history of severe allergic reactions, bleeding disorders, or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not receive RADIESSE injections. What to Expect After RADIESSE® Treatment?

There is minimal downtime required following RADIESSE injections, so patients can return to work or school right away. However, strenuous activity and extensive heat and sun exposure should be avoided for 24 hours. Mild redness, swelling, and bruising may occur, though should subside within a few days. Patients may also experience itching at the injection site. Results can last anywhere from 9-12 months before touch up injections are needed.
