Medical/ OHIP Appointment Policy

1. To book medical-related appointments with the dermatologist, a valid OHIP card is required.  Your OHIP card is also required on the day of the appointment, whether conducted in-person or virtually.

2.   Be sure to check phone voicemail, email, text for appointment confirmation and reminders.  Each patient will receive 2 methods of appointment notification (e.g. email, phone call). 

3.     For your appointment, please allow up to one hour (1 hour).  Please allot time to obtain parking prior to your scheduled appointment (See parking suggestions here)

4. Please bring any prescribed medications that were already used for your skin condition.

5.     To discuss your concern with sufficient detail, including all available treatment options, the appointment will focus on one issue.  If necessary, other concerns may be addressed at a separate appointment.

6. To manage the flow of patients and minimize reception room crowding, patients arriving after their scheduled appointment time may be asked to rebook that day’s appointment and arrive on time at the next appointment.

7. Family members who do not have a previously booked appointment and are accompanying the patient with an appointment may obtain a referral to be seen at an alternate, scheduled appointment time.

8.     Please notify our office at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your medical-related appointment, or a $75 fee applies prior to re-booking your appointment.

Cosmetic/ Private-Pay Appointment Policy

1.  To book cosmetic appointments with the dermatologist, you may contact the office by phone, email, or in-person visit.  OHIP does not pay for therapy or treatment of “non medically necessary” conditions or concerns. This includes, but is not limited to, removal of regular moles, removal of skin tags, cyst excision, removal of age-spots (e.g. seborrheic keratoses), injection of neurotoxin or injection of volume-enhancing filler.

2. Be sure to check phone voicemail, email, text for appointment confirmation and reminders.  Each patient will receive 2 methods of appointment notification (e.g. email, phone call). 

3.     Please review all information and consent forms prior to your appointment.  This provides you with the ability to gather questions you may have for Dr. Beach that day. 

4.     Payment is due the same day upon completion of the service.  For all cosmetic/ non-OHIP procedures, please pay by debit, Visa or MasterCard only.  DermAtelier on Avenue is a cashless office and has no cash on site.
